Aurapani Waterfall and Lake: Located approximately 45 kilometers from Bilaspur district and just 5 kilometers from the Aanandvan resort and restaurant lies the quaint village of Aurapani. This village, surrounded by abundant natural resources, has been a hub of prosperity over the years. The villagers here are known for their peaceful and amiable nature. Aurapani Village is enveloped by dense forests, harboring a beautiful lake. After a journey of about 2 kilometers through the jungle, visitors reach this waterfall. To reach Aurapani Village, one can travel comfortably by motor vehicle, but to proceed further, a short trek is necessary. As you advance, you’ll navigate through dense forests with varied elevations. Numerous small waterfalls adorn the surroundings, with one notable cascade known as Nagkhola Waterfall. However, the real attraction is the Aurapani Waterfall, which is divided into two tiers, standing approximately 100 to 150 feet tall.
Four Waterfalls in One Village: Aurapani is the only village where not one or two, but a total of four waterfalls are located. Among these, the most prominent are the Aurapani Waterfall and another waterfall known as Nagkhola. Both are significant and large waterfalls situated in Aurapani. Additionally, there are several smaller waterfalls in the area, although none are as long as Nagkhola or Aurapani.
Best Time to Visit Aurapani: Although you can visit here at any time, it is advisable to choose a season where you can witness sufficient water flow. Therefore, the monsoon season is ideal, but reaching here during the rainy days can be difficult due to muddy roads. However, if you come here after the monsoon season when the mild cold sets in, you’ll witness even more beautiful scenery, and you won’t encounter as many difficulties reaching here.
